Cabinet Maker

Port Coquitlam, British Columbia / Production / Full-time

duties and responsibilities 

  • Inspecting and sub-assembling materials and articles to specified standards.

  • Reading and understanding blueprints or work order specifications, whether written, illustrated, or oral, to determine layout and installation procedures.

  • Trimming joints and fitting parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforcing joints using nails, screws, or other fasteners

  • Sanding wooden surfaces and applying veneer, stain, or polish to finished products

  • Operating woodworking machines and using hand tools to cut, shape, and form parts and components.

  • Installing, repairing, and servicing prefabricated cabinetry, cupboards, and vanities using hand and power tools.

  • Measuring and marking guidelines to be used for installations.

  • Ensuring that the work is completed to the standard set by the customer, project manager, or contractor.

Job Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in cabinet making.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Trade Certification

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.
